Shoots 62 to tie course record in Round 1.
The Bay Hill course record, 62: Andy Bean (1981), Greg Norman (1984), Adam Scott, (today).
Arnie's best at Bay Hill? 62. (not in the tournament)
"I'm not surprised that Adam shot that 62. He has been playing very well since he won the Masters last year. This certainly shows what a quality player he is. The Bay Hill course is playing somewhat like Augusta might play in April. He played the par-fives in six under and that's a big thing at Augusta." said Arnold Palmer.
"Obviously, I'm really thrilled with the start today. It's maybe a little surprising. I don't know where it came from, but the putter certainly got hot today." said Adam Scott.
So where does the Aussie rank today's round amongst the great rounds of his career. Would it make the top five, for example?
"Yeah, probably". said Scott. "It's going to be right there."
So with the large opening round gallery following, is it as good being Adam Scott as it appears to be?
"I can't complain, I must say. I'm playing golf for a living, that's a good start, isn't it? It's pretty incredible to just be able to do that. I had a good crowd out there today. It was really nice." said Scott.
