CVS/pharmacy Youth Day Scheduled for Monday March 12

02/06/07

At Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard

Youth will be welcome to the 2007 Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard, starting on the first day under the PGA Tour event's new name. Monday March 12 will be CVS/pharmacy Youth Day, with free admission for all youth ages 17 and under, accompanied by a paid adult. Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. The Youth Day sponsorship was a natural fit for CVS, who recently started the CVS All Kids Can program to make life easier for children with disabilities.

The tournament, formerly known as the Bay Hill Invitational, will be the entire week of March 12 to 18 at the Bay Hill Club in Orlando, Florida. The four rounds of PGA Tour competition will be Thursday through Sunday. Youth Day activities on Monday will include a Pro-Am tournament starting at 10:00 a.m. with professional golfers from the PGA Tour and a Youth Clinic at 4:00 p.m. featuring a PGA Tour player and the Dennis Walters Trick Shot Show.

Twenty-four youth will be selected to serve as escorts for the Pro-Am tournament, and each will walk inside the gallery ropes with one of the Pro-Am groups, along with an adult companion, for a close-up view of a professional golfer in action. The 24 youth will be chosen on merit from local public schools participating in The First Tee National School Program. The First Tee National School Program, which is supported by the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the PGA Tour, is committed to establishing a lifelong interest in golf by introducing elementary school students to a structured golf curriculum implemented by certified physical educators.

Admission on Tuesday through Sunday will be $15 for Daily Youth Tickets for ages 11 to 17. Tickets on Monday for youth ages 11 to 17 without a paid adult will also be $15. Youth ages 10 and under will have free admission every day. Admission for adults will be $35 on Monday through Wednesday and $45 on Thursday through Sunday. Admission badges for the entire week are $95.

Parking on Monday will be free. Enter by Gates A or B off Apopka-Vineland Road and follow directions to Parking Lot 8.
