Happy Birthday, Arnold Palmer!

LATROBE, PA - Golf legend and philanthropist Arnold Palmer celebrates his birthday today.

Yesterday, he was busy at his home course, Latrobe Country Club, hosting the Latrobe Classic which supports his namesake Children's hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.

"I've never been here before [Latrobe Country Club] and the idea that he grew up here, this is a historic golfing landmark, not because he learned the game here, he still lives here. He's omni-present. Everything about his place, it's not only about him, it's about his father as well." said Gary Williams, host of Golf Channel Morning Drive.

JetBlue, Golf Channel and Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge were on hand for the tournament and made a one million dollar commitment to the Arnold Palmer Medical Center.

On September 23rd, the inaugural Arnold Palmer Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament will be held at Bay Hill to support The First Tee of Central Florida.

Later this month he will head the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Hall of Fame inaugural class, which is to be inducted September 26. This fall, his alma mater Wake Forest University will unveil a statue of him at their state-of-the-art golf facility which Palmer helped re-design in 2010.
